This is the scene, at about one hour and thirty five minutes into the movie, when Bruce Boxleitner and fellow soldiers are surprised by Confederates, all over drinking water from a creek. Boxleitner's character tries to create calm and attempts in vain to get his fellow soldiers and the Rebs to disarm and peacefully drink. What follows is very disheartneing and tragic, as they all kill each other with only Bruce Boxleitner's character surviving. Wow. What a powerful scene showcasing man's animal instincts of killing.
